How Long Does a Knee Replacement Take?
Much of the time involved in our advanced techniques is in preparation. Rather than implanting a standard-sized knee joint (as is usually the case in a traditional surgical approach), we use 3D modeling to customize the replacement joint for a perfect fit. Our precision sizing and alignment allows for a faster, minimally invasive surgical technique.
Smaller incisions mean faster healing and better outcomes.
The incisions are smaller, with less blood loss and a smaller amount of bone removed. You will not have some of the unsightly effects of traditional knee replacement surgery, such as an overhang due to a poor fit. In fact, your knee will look normal. The surgery itself takes two to three hours to complete, in which we will place your customized implant without damaging the healthy bone, cartilage, and ligaments. A short incision, about five to six inches long, is placed at the front of your knee. The result? Faster recovery, a very natural feel, and less need for opioid pain medications – and no weeks of physical therapy appointments.
After your surgery: What to expect?
